Glorious Goodwood 2026: the week, the races, and a model pick in every one of them

Five days on the Sussex Downs, three Group 1s, and the most treacherous betting week of high summer. This page is our festival hub: through the meeting we'll carry odds compared across 20+ bookmakers for every race and our data model's pick in every race — each one logged before the off and settled in public, exactly like the 3,000+ picks already on the record.

The week at a glance

Tuesday 28 July
Goodwood Cup (Group 1)
The stayers' championship of the summer — two miles of it.
Wednesday 29 July
Sussex Stakes (Group 1)
Traditionally the clash of the generations over the Goodwood mile.
Thursday 30 July
Nassau Stakes (Group 1)
The fillies' and mares' highlight over ten furlongs.
Friday 31 July
King George Stakes (Group 2)
Five furlongs downhill — pure speed, famously chaotic.
Saturday 1 August
Stewards' Cup (Heritage Handicap)
A six-furlong cavalry charge and one of the great punting puzzles of the year.

An honest word about festival betting

Festivals are the hardest markets of the season to beat, and anyone who tells you otherwise is selling something. Fields are huge, the ground on the Downs changes character by the hour, and the big handicaps — the Stewards' Cup above all — are designed to be impossible. Our model will pick in every race anyway, because that's the deal: every race, logged before the off, losses left in. If it has a bad Goodwood, you'll see exactly how bad, on the same page as everything else.

What you get during the festival, free: every race's odds compared across 20+ bookmakers, the model's view on every runner, and AI race previews — plus the running public tally of how the week's picks are actually going.

Why trust a model at all?

Don't — check it instead. Since April 2026 every top pick our model has made (3,000+ of them) sits on a public ledger with the odds at the moment of the pick and the official result. For context, backing every favourite over the same races lost about 10p per £1 — we published that data too. We show the maths, not promises; the record updates daily through the festival.
